Changes to our slide

Ok, they new site is here! Stick with us as this will be subjected to improvements and modifications. If you were at the event in Derby recently and have any good quality high resolution pictures that you wouldnt mind letting us have then i’d be grateful!

Since the Derby Event we have made a few changes to the big/ massive water slide. We have removed the centre of the slide and made our giant water slide a single lane slide. With one wider wider slide lane. We have done this because we dont think the centre is neccessary. We still managed to get a high number of participants down the slide when we were only using one lane on the day!

Why did we only use one lane on the giant water slide? Well a couple of reasons. Firstly we had underestimated the amount of water that was required so could only keep one lane wet. In future events without the centre we will not need so much water on the giant water slide, this is because the centre of the slide restricted the lanes, and created friction as people slid down the slide.

The second reason we used so much water was that the hill in Mickleover was at the limits of the minimum grade of hill (steep) that can be used. In future we would ideally look for a steeper hill than this. That said it was such a huge success in Mickleover that we hope to recreat the event next year 🙂

We are currently in talks with a number of event organisers for 2015 to hire our giant water slide! Its very exciting to think that our water slide can be hired out to charity organisers to allow lots of money to be raised at a fraction of the cost of buiding your own giant water slide. Other benefits of hiring a giant water slide from XS Events are that our slide is professionally built so its safer! It also makes getting insurance for your giant water slide event easier to do. We are currently talking to the insurers to try and get a lower fee for the insurance so that for the event organiser for the charity water slide event there is less to do. Remember nearly £5000 was raised for the charity from one event in Derby

Charity water slide hire Ashbourne

The lucky “sliders” have been notified by email! The slip n slide charity event is coming to Ashbourne on Saturday. If you have an email saying you have a place then please open the email and click the link within. This will take you to the confirmation page and you can book your spot! Ashbourne water slide a success

The Giant water slide in Ashbourne on May 16th was an overwhelming success! The slide worked well and there were hundreds of happy smiles to be seen!.. Thousands of pounds were raised in Ashbourne on the day. The giant waterslide was only one element of the towns May fun day and we all enjoyed being a part of it. Hopefully some of the days photographs will slip n slide into your memory!

The event was well attended, and photographed in full by Michael hope-smith from three six seven nine photography. The photpgraphs will provide a lasting memory of an outstanding day in the history of Ashbourne.
